In 2018, Squelch was proud to partner with Zendesk as a sponsor for its signature Relate conference in San Francisco.

But this year, rather than hosting one multi-day conference, Zendesk is putting on a series of one-day events across the country under the banner of Zendesk Showcase. Although the format has changed, our excitement to sponsor Zendesk events remains as strong as ever.

Introducing Zendesk Showcase

Zendesk Showcase brings together customer experience, support, and success leaders for conversations about how to create seamless experiences for both employees and customers. The one-day events also explore the latest CX tools and share stories from innovative brands that prioritize service.

The Showcase kicked off in Texas last month and will head to New York next week. Read on for a recap of the Squelch team’s experience at Zendesk Dallas and then view event details, a weather forecast, and packing tips to prepare for Zendesk NYC.

Recap of Zendesk Dallas

The Zendesk Showcase in Dallas was held on Wednesday, April 10 at The Statler Hotel. Squelch was well represented at the event by several members of our sales and marketing departments who relished the opportunity to chat one-on-one with attendees about their CX challenges.

We also made time to attend some Showcase sessions. Here are a couple of our top takeaways.

Conversations, Connections, and Customer Service

In a session titled “Conversations, Connections, and Customer Service,” Bumble’s Head of Creative Erin Foster explained that companies are in a particularly vulnerable position today because of customers’ ability to post anything about your company online.

In this environment, companies must listen to their customers more closely than ever before. Foster also encouraged attendees to pay attention to individual feedback because what you hear from one customer may represent a common view.

Break Free

Mark Woolen, Zendesk’s SVP of product and platform marketing, also took to the stage in a session titled “Break Free.” Woolen talked about the necessity of keeping customers front and center while also acknowledging the challenges of doing so at scale.

When companies are small, you can provide personal assistance to each customer individually. But as the volume of customers increases, that becomes impossible to maintain. Instead, companies must harness the power of technology and automation to provide amazing experiences in a scalable and sustainable way.

Get Ready for Zendesk NYC

With the Dallas event in the rearview mirror, Zendesk Showcase is now preparing for the Big Apple. The NYC event will take place on Wednesday, May 22 at the Metropolitan Pavilion on West 18th Street. Registration opens at 8 am and talks start at 9 am. Attendees can expect a full day of sessions followed by happy hour and networking from 6-7:30 pm.

One session we highly recommend is “Best practices for aligning your organization around the customer” led by Elisabeth Zornes and Colleen Berube, Zendesk’s chief customer officer and chief information officer, respectively.

Zornes and Berube will offer best practices for aligning the entire company around the customer and share their experiences from top brands like Adobe, PwC, Cisco, Microsoft, and Siemens to help attendees prepare for potential obstacles they may encounter along the way. For further reading on this topic, be sure to check out our free eBooks on the value of integrating customer support and success across the organization.

We also hope attendees will stop by Booth S-5 to meet the Squelch team and see our customer experience optimization solution in action. And to say thank you, we’ll enter you for a chance to win a pair of Apple AirPods!

Weather Forecast and Packing Recommendations

The temperature for Zendesk NYC is expected to reach a high of 70 degrees with a low in the high 50s. The forecast also predicts a slight chance (20 percent) of rain.

Packing for a one-day event is considerably easier than prepping for a multi-day conference. But it’s still worth putting some thought into selecting attire that’s appropriate for a professional event yet will also keep you comfortable for a longer-than-usual workday. And while the chances of rain are low, it wouldn’t hurt to bring along an umbrella if there’s room in your bag.

See You in New York

As you can see, we had a great time at Zendesk Dallas and are pumped for next week’s Showcase in NYC. We wish all attendees a safe voyage and look forward to meeting you!
